Outlast é o primeiro jogo desenvolvido pela Red Barrels, fundada pelos designers Philippe Morin e David Chateauneuf e pelo diretor de arte Hugo Dallaire. Os membros da equipe trabalharam em títulos como Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Assassin's Creed, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune e Splinter Cell: Conviction.

No game de terror em primeira pessoa, o jogador visita um asilo nas montanhas do Colorado através dos olhos do jornalista Miles Upshur. O local estava abandonado, mas foi reaberto para estranhas experiências secretas. Agora, Upshur terá sorte se sair com vida.

Outlast tem versões para PlayStation 4 e PC.
